
CrossFit Games 2021 have arrived and many CrossFit Games 2021 competitors are thrilled. Other than the traditional CrossFit Games, events for women will be held. Competition for women
The 2021 Crossfit Games' women's competition started this morning with the swim race. Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr and Jonne Koski won in the first event. After maintaining her lead throughout competition, Koski was declared the overall winner. Tall and Eramooo O’Connell came second and three respectively. It was the first Games women's event and the women hoped to complete it.
The women's contest is filled with high-level athletes. Nine athletes are represented in the field, including a young Australian powerhouse who won last year's competition. Kara Saunders from Australia, who placed second in Australia and 11th globally in 2020 are other contenders. Andrea Nisler was also a rising star. In 2018, she competed in team division and came in third in the United States. She finished fifteenth in 2020. Aside from these athletes, the Women’s competition will also include a newcomer, Sara Sigmundsdottir, an Icelandan competitor, who won first place at the World Crossfit Games earlier.
Pegboard contest
Pegboard at Crossfit Games 2020 was a first. It was added to the Games' summer Olympic program along with double-unders and dumbbell overhead squats. Toomey-Orr held the record for most Games wins with 30. Sager won Event 11 for men and earned his third win of the Games. There were several ties in the contest, but Toomey-Orr's dominance was not enough to keep him out of the win.

Athletes train for the CrossFit Games by focusing on ten general physical fitness skills: cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, power, speed, and agility. Pegboard is a contest that tests competitor's grip strength as well as coordination. Competitors hold two wooden pegs between each hand and compete to win. The Pegboard was a fierce competition that left the athletes feeling proud of their accomplishments.
System of cutting
CrossFit Games will use a cutting system again for individual competitions. It's not as extreme as the cuts used in past Games, but still very different than this year. It consists of 15 events so 30 athletes could be reduced after the seventh and eighth events. CrossFit's decision on how to adjust the points distributed after cuts remains a question. The scoring table used to determine the winners in the 2019 games was very similar to the one used to determine the losers in 2021. This is why it's most likely that the current system will be used.
This year's CrossFit Games field includes 236 athletes. It is the largest ever. The first six events result in major cuts. The field then drops to 75 athletes. The top 30 competitors then compete in the sprint couplet to determine which athlete is number ten. From there, the top twenty athletes compete in the six remaining events. Castro's system was strongly criticised by former Games participants, who felt that cuts were too substantial.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok has released new CrossFit Games shoes, clothing and equipment. The Nano X1 is the new shoe. They are built to accommodate multiple fitness needs. Although Reebok calls this shoe "the shoe for fitness", it feels more like a training shoe. DuPont's Kevlar upper promotes breathability while ensuring durability. The shoes are responsive thanks to the firm midsole and RopePro technology.

CrossFit's sponsorship contract with Reebok is ending at the end of 2020. There will not be a title sponsor for the Games. Reebok has sponsored the Games for more than a decade. It is now evident that their involvement in the Games will decrease. Reebok won't be funding the Games' prize fund, but will continue making all athletic apparel and equipment worn athletes by, including the Reebok gear. The company will no longer call itself the "Reebok CrossFit Game", as it currently does.
