wellness tips

CrossFit Games 2021 have arrived and many CrossFit Games 2021 competitors are thrilled. Apart from the usual men's and ladies' competitions, there will be some women's events. We have all heard about the women's competition, the Pegboard contest, the Cutting system, and Reebok's equipment, but do you know what to expect? Continue reading to learn more! Women's competition

The swim event was the start of the women's division at the 2021 Crossfit Games. Jonne and Tia Claire Toomey-Orr won the first competition. Koski was the overall winner after keeping her lead throughout the competition. Tall and Eramoo Connell were second and third, each. It was the first Games event by women. The women's side wanted to complete the podium.

The women’s competition is populated with high-level competitors. The field comprises nine athletes, one of whom is a teenager who won the competition in Australia last summer. Kara Saunders of Australia, who was second in Australia and eleventh in the world in 2020, are also contenders. Andrea Nisler was also a rising star. In 2018, she competed in team division and came in third in the United States. She finished fifteenth in 2020. In addition to these athletes, the Women's competition will also feature a newcomer to the sport - Icelandan competitor Sara Sigmundsdottir, who won the first place medal in the World Crossfit Games earlier this year.

Pegboard contest

Pegboard at Crossfit Games 2020 was a first. It was added to the Games' summer Olympic program along with double-unders and dumbbell overhead squats. Toomey-Orr, who won 30 games events, holds the record of most wins in one Games event. Sager won Event 11 (for men) and was awarded his third Games win. Although there were many ties, Toomey-Orr's dominance wasn't enough to prevent him from winning the contest.

healthy workouts

Athletes train for the CrossFit Games by focusing on ten general physical fitness skills: cardiovascular endurance, strength, flexibility, power, speed, and agility. Pegboard is a contest that tests competitor's grip strength as well as coordination. Two wooden pegs are held between the hands of each competitor to gauge their grip strength. The competition was fierce and the athletes felt a sense accomplishment after finishing the Pegboard.

Cutting system

CrossFit Games has a new cutting system for individual competition. It's not as extreme as the cuts used in past Games, but still very different than this year. The competition consists of 15 individual events, so a first cut to 30 athletes is likely after the seventh or eighth event. Another question remains: how will CrossFit adjust the points spread following cuts? The scoring system used in 2019 was virtually identical to the 2021 one, so it is probable that this will continue.

The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. Major cuts occur in the first six events. The field is reduced down to 75 athletes. To determine the top ten, the top 30 athletes compete in a sprint tandem. From there, the top 20 athletes compete in the remaining six events. Castro's system was strongly criticised by former Games participants, who felt that cuts were too substantial.

Reebok's equipment

Reebok recently announced new CrossFit Games equipment, including clothing and shoes. Nano X1 will be the new shoes. They're made to fit multiple fitness needs. Reebok claims this shoe is "the shoe that will fit all your fitness needs," but it's more like a regular training shoe. DuPont’s Kevlar material is used to make the upper of this shoe, which promotes breathability as well as durability. The shoe's responsiveness is enhanced by the RopePro tech and a firm midsole.

health and fitness related blogs

CrossFit's contract with Reebok will expire at the end 2020. The Games will no longer have a title sponsor. Reebok has sponsored these Games for over a decade. However, it now appears that the company's involvement in the Games is decreasing. The company won't fund the Games' prize purse, but will continue to make all of the athletic apparel and equipment worn by athletes, including the new Reebok gear. The company will no more refer to itself by the name "Reebok Fitness Games", as it does right now.

It is important that you note that not all people develop kidney stones when they consume more than 2 grams of protein per kg (2.2 pounds). It is possible to eat high levels of protein without developing kidney stones.

Your sodium intake can prevent kidney stone formation. Sodium regulates the body's water balance. Too much sodium results in a higher risk of developing kidney stones.

You can also try reducing your protein intake if you get kidney stones. About half of adults' daily caloric intake is made up of protein. It is possible to lose weight by cutting down on your intake of proteins.
